How to Add a Custom Print Service

Tip: If you price by the square inch or square foot, then we recommend you use the Mounting group.

However, adding Mat Margins increases the Retail Price of the print (because the print item was created in the Mounting group; and items in the Moulding group are based on the glass size). To avoid this, add your printing service in the Other field.

  1. Click the New Price Code Item button and choose Mounting.

  2. Enter an Item name, e.g.  Print - Canvas  or  PRT Canvas

Tip: You may want to use an abbreviation, for example PRT or PSV in front of all printing services.  For example, PRT - Canvas to easily identify, find and price printing on canvas. Also, when you are enter a printing service on a Work Order, use the magnifying glass icon and type PRT to see only the printing services.

  1. Add your wholesale Cost per unit, for example 0.08 cents per 1 square inch.

If, instead, you are adding a retail cost, then make sure you add a Markup of  1 .

  2. In the Dimensions field, choose the size on which the wholesale cost is based. For example,   1 x 1  to price by the square inch, e  12 x 12  to price by the foot, etc.

Tip: Use Edit… to add a size that is not in the list. The list is not sorted automatically so you will need to place the size into the appropriate area on the list, for example, 1 x 1 at top of list.

  1. Open the Mounting Pricing tab and adjust the Markup to your needs.

  2. Optionally add a Set Price to cover your setup or any post-processing you might need to do per image.

  3. Examine the Price Sampler to the right to confirm the accuracy of the pricing. Adjust as needed.

If the Price Sampler is empty, then click the Reset button to refresh it.

  4. Open the Other tab.

  5. Click in the Unit of Measure field and select the unit matching your chosen Dimensions (above).

  6. Add the price of your chosen unit of measure into the Price/UOM field. You may need to manually calculate this value using your Markup and Cost.

  7. Add a Set Price to cover your setup or any post-processing you might need to do per image.

  8. In the Min Price field, if applicable, add a minimum dollar amount per print job.

  9. If your Retail Price comes from a Code Table, then choose the table in the Code field.

  10. Add a Note if applicable.

  11. If you have different price points based on quantity or outside factors, then use the Other tab to enter these options. Or, if you wish to use a price structure not available in the Pricing tab.

  12. Click in the Unit of Measure field and select, from the drop down list, the unit by which the item will be priced, e.g. Each, SQ FT, etc.

  13. Enter the price for the UOM (Unit of Measure) in the previous field. The option to use a markup is not available with pricing in the Other tab. Your markup should be included in the Price you enter.
