Matboard and Fabric Group: Form View

Most of these fields are described in the Moulding Form View Screen therefore only ones unique to Matboard and Fabric groups will be covered here.

Explanation of the Matboard and Fabric Form Views

The title box, MATBOARD or FABRIC, identifies the Group of the item you are viewing.

Thickness Field

  • Of the matboard or fabric. Affects the Required Rabbet Depth alert message on the Work Order screen.

Cost Field

  • The list price supplied by the vendor.

Minimum Cost Field

  • The minimum cost of the product when purchasing it from the supplier.

Note: this field was created for a specific vendor who charges a minimum price for their product. It may serve other purposes as well.

Dimensions Drop-down

  • Will default to 32×40 if no entry is selected from the drop-down list.

  • The size of stock will affect the price per square inch (square centimetre) which FrameReady uses to calculate the area and price of a matboard or fabric.

  • If a size is selected, then make sure that the cost corresponds to the size.

Minimum Price Field / Popover

  • The minimum retail price of an item. This dollar amount will only be used if the calculated price is less than the minimum retail price. Therefore, the retail price will never fall below the amount entered in the Minimum Price field.

E.g. If the minimum price is set at $10.00, and the price of an item is calculated at $9.50, the item will price out at $10.00.

  • When clicked, a popover formula field appears. Formulas can be modified in the popover. Click outside the popover to close it.

Code Field / Popover

  • A method of pricing by X and Y dimensions or United Inch (United Centimeter) or Square Inch (Square Centimeter). This allows for multiple pricing tiers using either a calculated price per United Inch or an arbitrary price.

  • When clicked, a popover formula field appears. The Code can be changed from this field. Click outside the popover to close it. There is also an option to Clear the current code, or go to the identified Code Table.

Manual Inventory tab

  • The size of the matboard is expressed in two fields X and Y. This allows for the tracking of partial sizes. The actual number of any size must be entered into the quantity field.

  • The Total field calculates the square area of the matboard (based on the X and Y values) and expresses it as a decimal number, e.g. 16×20 = .25

  • The Discount field will not affect the price you charge your customers. It is used to accurately reflect the true dollar value of your inventory. Manually enter the percentage discount you receive from your vendor in a decimal format, e.g. 10% entered as .10
