Recommended Security Practices

FrameReady gives you the ability to store vast amounts of important customer data; names, phone numbers, addresses, sales history etc. This information is crucial for processing payments, shipping products and marketing your business, however you owe it to your customers to protect their all their private information that you store in your software.

Below are some recommended security practices:

  1. Always exit FrameReady at the end of the day or if you are leaving the shop.

  2. Do not store passwords in Credentials Manager (Windows) or Keychain (Mac).

  3. Do not store credit card numbers in the computer or in FrameReady.

  4. Set login passwords for all computers and iPads that access FrameReady.

  5. Use a strong Wi-Fi password and disable Wi-Fi guest accounts.

  6. If you are walking away from the computer, then switch back to the Main Menu so that you are not leaving customer information easily visible on the screen.

  7. If you are networking FrameReady to multiple computers/devices, then upgrade to FileMaker Server.

  8. Keep any USB backup drives in a safe and secure place (preferably off-site).
