Troubleshooting

Repairing All Files

WARNING: The Repair Method replaces the files with a clean copy from the original FrameReady installer.  If you have made any customizations to those files, they will be lost using the Repair Method.  

If this is the case, use the Recover Method or recover from a backup copy of FrameReady.

If a file or a number of files have been severely damaged, you may encounter a broken script error: The script cannot be found or has been deleted.  Would you like to continue or cancel this script? Use the following steps to repair the files.

Repair All Files in Mac OSX

Files cannot be repaired in Mac OSX.

Repair All Files in Windows XP

  1. If the broken script error is on screen, click cancel.

    You may need to click cancel more than once.

  2. Close FrameReady and FileMaker Pro.

  3. Navigate to your FrameReady folder.

    Default location is C:\SoftTouch Solutions\FrameReady ##

  4. While holding the Ctrl key on the keyboard, single-click Data01, Data02, Data03, Data04, Data05 and Data06, so that all six Data files are highlighted.

    Ignore any Data files that contain the word old, recovered, etc. e.g. Data01old.fmp12

  5. Go to the Edit menu at the top of the screen and click Invert Selection (all files except Data01-Data06 will now be highlighted).

    Windows 8+ click the Invert Selection icon in the Home tab.

    If you do not see the edit menu, press the Alt key on your keyboard.

  6. Press the Delete key on your keyboard.

  7. If prompted, click Yes.

    You should only see the six Data files - these are the only files containing the data you have entered into FrameReady.

  8. Close the current window.

  9. From the Start menu, select Control Panel.

  10. Select Add/Remove Programs.

  11. Scroll through the list of installed programs and single-click on your current version of FrameReady and click the “Click here for support” link.

  12. Click the Repair button.

    Wait for any progress bars to finish.

  13. Re-open FrameReady.

Repair All Files in Windows Vista/7

  1. Click Cancel.

    You may need to click cancel more than once.

  2. Close FrameReady and FileMaker Pro.

  3. Navigate to your FrameReady folder.

    Default location is C:\SoftTouch Solutions\FrameReady ##

  4. While holding the Ctrl key on the keyboard, single-click Data01, Data02, Data03, Data04, Data05 and Data06, so that all six Data files are highlighted.

    Ignore any Data files that contain the word old, recovered, etc., e. g. Data01old.fp7

  5. Go to the Edit menu at the top of the screen and click Invert Selection (all files except Data01-Data06 will now be highlighted).

    If this option is not visible, you need to select Programs, then Programs and Features.

  11. Scroll through the list of installed programs and single-click on your current version of FrameReady.

  12. Click the Repair button at the top of the window.

    Wait for any progress bars to finish.

  13. Re-open FrameReady.
