Duplicate Work Order Side Bar Button

Duplicate Work Order button creates a new work order identical to the current record. This grey button is located near the bottom in a column down the left side of work order screen.A new order # and current date is assigned along with the option of selecting a new customer and updating to current pricing. The edition # on LE art will be cleared if one was present. However, Location (Bin1, ready for pickup, etc.) is also copied. Be sure to modify this. The Job# is copied. Be sure to clear the Job# field or problems will arise when you click the Post To Invoice button. See http://frameready.com/know/how-to-batch-work-orders-together-job-number-field/

Examples of when you would use this feature are:

  1. When repeating an order from years ago for the same customer. A good example of this in when grandparents are framing photos of their grandchildren in identical frames. So as each new grandkiddie comes along, in they come to your frame shop looking for the same moulding. The easiest thing to do is to look up the old work order in the Contacts file under the Work Orders tab. Press Go button. Then duplicate the work order using the Duplicate Work Order button and choose to update to current pricing.WO tab contacts file
  2. When repeating a frame job, but for a different customer. Many times one customer will like the way you framed something for another customer, i.e. framing the same print. When the dialog box appears asking to include the customer information, be sure to choose No and enter the new customer on the work order.duplicate wo
  3. When working with templates to ensure that all necessary items in repeat designs are entered each time.   How to create templates:  http://frameready.com/know/how-do-i-set-up-some-templates-to-do-quantities-of-repeat-orders/

You do NOT need to use the Duplicate Work Order button when creating different design options of the same artwork. Instead, use the Scenarios button to save up to 5 different design options on one work order. How to enter Scenarios:  http://frameready.com/know/scenarios/
